I miss the language announcements, not for me but the sense of the cosmopolitan nature of flying. Generally it used to be a shorter announcement of a member of crew speaking xxx and being available, not the whole welcome.
Trust me - you don't miss them if you're on CX and the seat belt sign comes on: announcements in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and sometimes the outport language telling you to fasten your seatbelts and that hot drinks won't be served. Particularly annoying when you're sleeping on a long haul flight.
