Depending on the situation, from AC too. But the credit card will likely deal with that more painlessly than for the OP to try getting water out of a stone with AC.
This said, it's not clear if he means that the luggage is simply delayed or really lost. If it's given up as lost by AC, they surely will pay the compensation as per tariffs/agreements.
