At a BA checkin counter, I asked changing to an earlier flight.
(OK, now, I know it wasn't good idea).
An agent was happy to do.
Later, I found my subsequent flights were canceled because of I didn't board the original flght ( normal procedure of no show ).

Obviously, the agent didn't do necessary procedure.
