Royal Hawaiian is basically two buildings attached. One is an heirloom but some rooms will not be designed to contemporary taste. The newer tower is more contemporary but lacks the older original elegance.

The Halekulani receives many Japanese guests who demand the finest in accomodations and service. My treatment at the Halekulani was always first-class (and the ocean frontage was special).
