I just stayed here for a quick one night stay after being in the city and having an early morning flight out of LGA. Used an SNA on the stay since I had several left that were going to expire within a couple of weeks anyway.

Overall I have very mixed feelings about my stay! I arrived around 3:30 pm and my first thought was that it was in a dumpy area. Hotel itself is nice and the lobby is nicely decorated. When I tried to check in I was told that the suite was not ready yet so they asked me to wait and after finding out it would be cleaned in approx. 30 minutes I agreed to do so. Hotel only has one suite and it is located on the 10th floor. Overall I was pretty impressed by the size of the suite and it had one of the nicest carrera marble baths I have seen in a 4 Pts. Suite had a nice view of the city and bridge.

Since I had an early morning flight I decided to eat in the hotel restaurant on the lobby floor. Food and service were good and reasonably priced but the kicker was that a Gin & Tonic in a small glass was $13! They even had a decent looking espresso machine so I decided to try one as well after dinner and it was actually pretty good.

So after dinner I am thinking.....why does this hotel get bad reviews? Up until now everything had been better than most of my past Four Points stays. Well when I got up to the room after dinner I noticed some light sounds of music coming from the floor above me. That would generally not be an issue but within the next 1-2 hours the music got so loud that I thought I was in a club. I ended up going downstairs and they said the 11th floor had been rented out for the night for an event. I was told that the event would end at 12pm and that they would try and see if they could keep down the music to a reasonable noise level. Naturally I questioned why they would put me in a suite directly under the event when they knew it was going to be loud. Agent said he could not answer that since he did not check me in. Well the music continued to get progressively louder as the night went on. In addition to the banging music, I could hear screaming patrons and the dj egging on the crowd. By 12:15 I had had enough so I called down to the front desk to remind the agent that I had been told it would be done by 12. He said he would send someone up and the music eventually stopped. I thought I could get some sleep now but noise above me continued as the clearly were either cleaning the room or moving out some of the equipment or doing other things in the space.

Anyway...that was my lovely night at the hotel. I asked for the Hotel Manager to call me the next day and I got a call from the Front Desk Manager. He really was not overly apologetic and he said that it's that time of year where people book parties. To me that is fine and understandable but this clearly was not a low key party but a full blown out rowdy dance event. I questioned why they would put a guest under the party and not block the floor when the clearly were not sold out. He said...we only have one suite which is fine but had I been told about the event I would have not waited 30 minutes for the suite but I would have asked for a room away from the noise. He offered me 3000 points but when I said that was not sufficient he said he would have to speak with the Hotel owner. Anyway...got a call back with a confirmed compensation of 5000 points. I guess I am happy with that but anyone booking a suite here might want to confirm there is no party planned for that night. (I got the feeling this was either a weekly or monthly thing based on the conversations I overheard in the elevator and not just a holiday party.)
