I maybe wrong in this but I thought that the codeshare airlines will get a percentage of the ticket. So if say the ticket is FLR-FCO-NYC-AUH-DUS for $1000 then every operating airline will get a percentage according the distance flown on their metal. So NYC-AUH would get the major chunk followed by FCO-NYC.
I was curious about the profit share as well - if it's based on percentages, AZ might not care...
Big difference between now and RGN was that those were IATA fares back then.
