The general consensus from what I can gather is that Jokers earned while passing through the various GGL lvls (5K and 6K) are replaced when your new earning year starts.
Assuming that is true, am I right in saying you should burn any jokers earned during your TP year prior to the clock resetting and they will then be awarded to you again when the counter goes back to zero?

you get 2 jokers when you first qualify. those are indeed 'reset' to zero on your membership anniversary and you get 2 new ones. i.e. if you don't use them, you loose them. so say you reach GGL on the 1st May and your membership year runs to 8th June. if you don't use any jokers, you'll have 2 on the 9th of june (not 4). if you use 2 on the 7th June, you'l have 2 new ones on the 9th June.

that isn't the case for passing through 5k though once you are GGL already - there's no jokers awarded to an existing GGL when they pass 5k, they are only awarded when the membership year resets.

the 6k joker (singular) is valid for 12 months from being awarded. as are the 7, 8 and 9k should the member choose that as the benefit (the alternatives being GUFs or 50k).
