IIRC they used to be able to see a difference between Gold and SVN granted Golds. I can attest that staying at a property often does gain you perks at least at larger metro properties. On my 9th week stay (around 38 nights) Sheraton Arabellapark put me up in a suite. Maybe they were giving me a Plat preview stay benefit
