I'm going to continue recording this adventure here for posterity in case others have similar problems.
The reservations and concierge desks both had problems adding my wife's number to PNRs, but seemed able to add it to individual flights. It was mentioned to me that somehow my wife was coming up in some field as M. ____ Smith, i.e. Monsieur ____ Smith, rather than Mrs. ____ Smith as she had asked Aeroplan to make her.
I phoned Aeroplan to try to correct this. Everything looked fine. Then they dug a bit deeper and found the same issue, but reset something and told me it should be fixed.
Now, here we are, 4 AC revenue flights later and, even though I got my wife's number on each booking thanks to reservations/concierge, none of them have been credited to her account (Altitude or Aeroplan), even though all have posted to mine for several days at least.
Clearly, something is deeply messed up here. And, of course, the typical AC-AE buck-passing doesn't help. AC: well, AE's database is messed up, not our fault. AE: database may have a small glitch, but shouldn't matter, so must be AC's fault.
I've just sent a detailed e-mail to the SE desk because I'm tired of wasting time on the phone on this and I want to start creating a detailed written record. We'll see whether or not this gets it fixed, but it's getting ridiculous that it has taken so long to try to resolve this.
It's also costing AC money because I'm not willing to book my wife on any revenue tickets until this is sorted out.
We'll see what happens.
