Was delayed in my follow up.
So, I was extremely fortunate and had one of the few SWĄ flights that got out. So, personally i have no axe to grind. And If they did not have deicer enough to go around, they did not and that is that as a matter of safety. BUt looking at the departure board, it sure seems like that day after the storm and the following it was SWA and Alaska that were impacted -- not the other csrriers who seemed to be mostly unimpaired.
So, based on earlier comments, looking for clarity. When (US domestic flights) have foreseeable MX conditions arise, and passengers are forced into major delays (or overnights) , they are only entitled to accommodations / meal vouchers because of individual airlines COCs, not as a pure matter of legal protections? I always thought this was a us federal protection by law, similar to IDB situations.
