you can make a change for >21 days out - that will be $90+tax
then you can cancel the change to redeposit the miles - that will be another $90+tax
Does this still work?

Also if you just cancel within 21 days, it is almost the same as getting the miles back in your account, with the exception that you have a 1 year limit and you lose any miles you dont use in the rebooking? Do you get back the difference in taxes (if any) if you change a flight within 21 days?
