I have UuA'd this route many a time and have been quoted $180 each way maximum. Is there something wrong here or has something actually changed?
Sounds incorrect to me. I just did the same on a LHR>PHL round trip and it was £74 (approx) on each leg, so just shy of £150 round trip.
I have had incorrect taxes calculated on a LHR>HKG fare which were almost double what I was expecting. I queried it and the very professional agent actually hand calculated the difference and admitted the system was wrong. The fares department tried to use the 'system calculation' which was still wrong and he had to show them his hand calculation before they admitted the error. Definitely query this further.
