An abandoned plane in Ohio

Along route 2, on the north side of the road near Toledo, sits a cut up old DC-3 (I think!). It is pretty much intact, both wings are there, as is the fuselage (although it's in pieces) and cockpit. There are seats still in the fuselage, and you can easily walk right up to it and investigate. I haven't had the courage to climb inside, but it seems possible.

Any idea why it's there, who it belongs to, it's history, etc?

Thanks.
