Dear Jack,

I called Air Canada. For you. And for anyone else who stumbles onto this thread. And for me since I have a ticket I may want to upsell.

There should be a single thread that combines the 3 that I know already exist with a wiki-sticky-thingie. Perhaps I'll ask the mods.

Also, I will publicly thank the awesome agent i spoke with. He took the time, looked it up. He read me the rules. I reviewed it with him as I wanted to make sure I understood it. (And yes, I've sent in a written compliment.)

Also thanks vernonc for pointing out the Tango-Flex one.

UPSELLING A FARE

ACPedia # 671126

Paragraph 12 (approximately) "UPS" says:

Change fee is waived when upselling to a higher fare within the same fare family and same flights.

*1. Tango and Flex Fares

Change fee is waived when upselling from Tango to Flex, Premium Economy or Business Class, or Flex to Premium Economy or Business Class.

Must be the same flights, the same route and on the same dates

If you wish to change the date, you have to pay the change fee.
This is due to the fact that Tango and Flex fares have restrictions.

*2. Premium Economy Fares

Change fee is waived when upselling from Premium Economy to Business Class fares for the same/different flights, the same/different dates and/or routes

I also asked the question about the fares themselves. I know that I did upsells last year on PE to Biz when I saw some great Biz fares. I called in. I made sure to ask the agent if when upselling say from PE to J as per Jack's situation, that you could buy a fare available on the website. I was told yes.

If any of you speak to an agent and want to ask the question again, please post the reply here.

Thanks.

.
