I'm trying to understand as previously all UA First Class flights seemed to have been booked as an F or an A fare. So...are P fares normal for domestic First? Want to avoid loosing out on tons of miles in the future since I got screwed out of close to 14k miles due to the P fare ticketing for a First Class booking.
Short answer: as part of the monetisation strategy for domestic premium cabins, they are selling P fares for First.
If the price is relatively cheap, it is probably a discount fare. Unfortunately if you are just scraping by on qualification thresholds, you really need to pay close attention.
