Personally I found the seats on the KL 777 narrower than on the KL 787. On the 787, my seat was slightly misaligned, which meant that I had actually rather nice shoulder space in the window seat. On the 777 the seat was right against the wall, so a lot less space to move.
In any case, both aircrafts are horrible in Y. 3-4-3 should only be configured on the very big planes (i.e. 747 and A380).
