Yeah but the other half of the thread title is tipping the maid! In CA, the redemption value for an empty water bottle is quite good. The housekeeper staff could get extra $10 to $20 per day just by collecting the empty water bottles from guests. Leaving them extra empty bottles + tips is like double tipping them!
