I'd look at the seat map before doing this, even though seat maps are unreliable etc. My reasoning is that I wouldn't want to SDC into an overbooked FC cabin, need to see the GA for a seat assignment, and risk being downgraded at the gate. Normally DL doesn't overbook FC but there could be exceptions for example during IROPs.
