I think you need to make a distinction between an immigrant who has just arrived in HK vs one who has been in HK a while with a salary history.
Also perhaps a distinction between an expat (by which I mean someone who is living & working in HK whilst regarding his/her long term home as elsewhere) and an immigrant (someone like me (or Nathan Law), who has moved to HK and intends to spend the rest of their life here).
