It's a great idea, LPG is a great place to visit (worth more than 25h in my opinion!)
Lao Air is comparable to any of the other airlines flying those routes. Their safety record has improved with the introduction of new planes. They fly ATR72 and A321 on your routes and have a 4-out-of-7 safety rating, so you should be ok. More info here
