Dude, why this obsession with staying close to the airport? With your departure time, you could get from a DECENT hotel at Ellerslie or in the CBD to the airport in under 20 minutes.

Christ, hire a car and do it in less - there aren't many HWP cars in NZ, and mostly they're 6cyl Commodores, so hire something with grunt and have done with it.
