Courtyard Asheville, NC

Stay Report 12/2-12/3:

Location: The hotel is located off Tunnel Road and I-240 about two miles from Downtown Asheville and three miles from the Biltmore Estate. If you're coming from AVL it's a fairly long drive at 17.5 miles. Uber is easy to use so you can use this hotel as your base of operations for the area even without a car. Nearby is the Asheville Mall with a number of restaurants and stores and a Whole Foods.

Hotel: Your basic Courtyard from the late 20th Century. Three floors with only a single elevator which is frustrating but on the plus side there's a lot of parking and the redone lobby came out pretty well. It's a Bistro Courtyard naturally.

Check In: Handled quickly and I was thanked for being a Marriott Gold. Of course that's the end of any Gold recognition at most US CYs as it was here.

Room: I think this might have been some form of an upgrade as my room had a larger living room area with a couch, table and chairs that my brother and his wife didn't get. The room felt fairly old, the TV is from last decade, there are no outlets near the bed (so I had to unplug the clock radio) but at least the Wifi worked well and the water pressure was great.

My rate was $119 which is great for Asheville. The hotel was perfectly fine and I wouldn't mind staying there, even if I still really don't like the CY concept.
