While writing up a guide to the Aer Lingus new frequent flyer programme AerClub, I came across several instances where you earn more Avios crediting to AerClub rather than to the BA Executive Club. For those of you wanting to maximise Avios where tier points are not a factor, I thought it may be interesting.
Essentially it comes down to the partner airlines, which are Qantas, Cathay Pacific and United. United is the easiest one - you earn Avios flying United on a whole range of fare classes, which you just don't on BA.
Qantas
Premium Economy in all fare buckets earns 110% of miles flown when credited to AerClub rather than 100% in the Executive Club. K,L,M,V,S Economy Class fares earn 50% of miles flown with AerClub, rather than 25% at BA.
In the above cases, flights could earn quite a few more Avios. No tier credits are earned on partner airlines flights in AerClub.
Cathay Pacific
L,K,M,V Economy Class fares earn 50% of miles flown in AerClub, rather than 25% with BA.
If anyone's interested, the complete guide to AerClub is available at the link below.

Hopefully it's an easily digestible look at the programme for the outsider.
Cheers!
