Anyone know if travel insurance counts as travel related purchase to get the $300 credit? So far, the data points I've seen indicate no. Specifically, wanting to purchase CSA Travel Protection and will use a different card if the Sapphire Reserve doesn't work for the credit.

Due to the limitations that Sapphire Reserve and Barclay Arrival have concerning what is a travel related purchase in order to get credits, we find ourselves using Cap 1 Venture more and more. In fact, we've closed our Arrivals since they got so stingy about what they'll allow you to use their points for. Of course, we didn't get the Sapphire Res. strictly for the $300 credit. I'll be buying Marriott gift cards anyhow, but thought I'd check on travel insurance as a credit too. I assume buying the physical Marriott gc is fine for the credit and not just e-gc?
