I am planning to visit Guanzhou for the first time after a quick stop in Macau. My internet searches seem to show that the best way is to take a taxi to zhuhai station and take the train to Guanzhou Nan station. Is this the best way? Some of the things that I have read also warns about long lines at customs and the possibility of getting confused or lost along the way.

Would it be easier to go back to Hong Kong and take the train from there? I appreciate any advice. Thanks
