Last time I took a taxi from LGA to the Millenium it worked out to about $60. I could be getting screwed - taxis are not my thing and I am not that familiar with NYC. As for the AirPorter, yes it is the same. I use it pretty regularly, and while not fast I have found it completely reliable - much better than the trains, which have screwed me up a few times by closures and delays. They stop at Grand Central, Bryant Park (I think that is the park) and the Port Authority.

This is a personal trip, so time to me is a lot less important than money. I figured being in Manhattan the fares would be considerably less than from the airport, but I guess that is not the case? Anyways, good information to have. As it turned out I check prices last night, and just within the 24 hour window I found Jet Blue had opened up a few more cheap fares, and one that landed in JFK. From there the A line is not so bad since you get on early, and you pull into Fulton St which has escalators.
