Absolutely. I think Hawaii's restrictions on new construction and limits on renovation are a big reason why there aren't new glamorous resorts as we find in Mexico and the Maldives and the like. And anywhere that has a concentrated demand for semi-monopolistic/limited hotel market can suffer less than extraordinary service. After all, despite the general lack of amazing service in Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Bora Bora, people still flock.
