I think the 'average' traveller sees nothing but the price. Woman at work recently returned from NYC/DC trip with her boyfriend and came home on the EWR LHR flight, which I thought I remembered could be the 787. Said to her about it being a Dreamliner and she said yes it was lovely, didn't you find the seat horrible cramped I asked, yes it was really narrow she replied. So you wouldn't do that again, oh no the plane was very nice, just the seat too tight, but the holiday was....
Just a forgotten detail to her. I suspect she may be more typical than many that post here, who knows.
