Norwegian Air (Finally) Gets DOT Approval for its Irish Subsidiary

I suspect that the ramifications of this will not be limited to more Norwegian flights to the U.S. but that it will serve more as a great leveler, similar to when JetBlue began to offer its very robust Mint product on premium transcon routes in the U.S.

Norwegian has a great product and when its Dreamliner fleet is somewhat larger it will lose the reputation for delays and cancellations.

I don't think the change in U.S. policy will have an impact until more Dreamliners arrive but they do have many dozens on order.

The U.S. Department of Transportation on Friday announced it had given final approval for Norwegian Air Shuttle’s Irish subsidiary to operate flights to and from the United States.
