Geez.
I realize the spirit in which this remark was intended. But must we always speak of domestics and waiters(as also referenced above) as people that we expect others to treat badly? It has been my experience as a domestic, (yes,
GoodKarmaGuy has been a butler!), and as a waiter, that rude people are rude people. They treat everyone with disrespect, I imagine, to make themselves feel better. My customers, guests and employers have treated me kindly more often than not.
It has also been my experience that my more wealthy customers, therefore usually more traveled, educated, etc., are more polite and more PC - which I need to say that I do appreciate. I have never noticed a difference in kindliness according to income or education.
