DH's Aviator Red legacy card opened Nov 2013. Were able to get statement credits the last 2 years but not this year. Had a $750 x 3 for 15K bonus offer in the Spring. Only a few hundreds additional spend in late Summer when on trip plus small AA payments on award tickets taxes.

Front line rep refused to transfer to retention dept unless said to "Cancel". Only offer is $1K spend in 3 months for 5K bonus miles.

He also had a regular Aviator Red opened in Dec 2014 (the one first year AF not waived and no annual bonus). This one also got statement credits in past 2 years. Didn't bother to ask for retention. Closed this card and moved the line to the legacy card.

It took 3 reps to finish the business - front line rep > retention dept > credit dept to close one card and transfer line to the legacy.
