I agree with above. Al Maha is definitely a generally better property than al Sarab.

The only real benefit I find of al Sarab is that you truly are in the middle of the Empty Quarter, rather than it just appearing that way when you're at al Maha (there's a busy highway just a few km from the resort). The relative isolation is real rather than perceived.
