I recall being de-iced with both types of fluid at LGA (orange then green over the entire aircraft including the fuselage) one January. It was a particularly bad winter for snow and we got stuck in Chicago for 3 days.
The snow was falling and the aircraft (MD80) was covered in snow, we did get de iced at the gate but the taxi and take off happened pretty much straight afterwards.
Probably the only time that I have been a nervous flyer.
