Horst Schulze, who was CEO of Ritz-Carlton for many years, pre-Marriott, left R-C when standards began to drop and formed Capella. One of the first hotels he did was Capella Castlemartyr in Cork, Ireland, and later, the ex-Georg Rafael Breidenbacher Hoff in Dusseldorf. A bit like GHM, Capella seems to lose quite a few management contracts, but with a management team that comprises a lot of ex-Ritz-Carlton people from the 'good days' it has pretty high standards when it combines with a good owner.
Wasn't the (in-)famous NYC Setai Hotel on 5th Ave once managed by Capella? Before they changed flag for about a dozen times? I believe it is the Langham Place these days.
