I'm heading there in Mid-January and have a few questions:

1) I know it's the beginning of dry season, but just how dry and brown will it be this early? Any chance it's still lush and has butterflies flying around?

2) I did a search in this thread for nearby activities and saw some recommendations for zip lining and horseback riding. Anyone have a recommendation for white water rafting? If so, how far is it from the resort and what was involved?
