Here is a Jakarta variant that I took last year (starting from Dallas instead of New York as this link shows). NYC-SIN-OJ-CGK-NYC. Can get a one-way flight from Singapore to Jakarta for about $100.

If you book directly on AA.com with that itinerary it comes to $779 with all AA flight numbers, 3.8 cpm.

Downside on this one is it is Cathay metal so can't use AA upgrades. But I will say staying in Singapore overnight is much preferable to Jakarta!
