Slightly off topic - I was surprised Sunday when travelling on LH from ZRH-FRA that the FA came to the mother seated in the same row as me and gave her a small harness thingy to buckle in her lap-child. It loops into the parent's seat belt and serve to belt in the child together with the parent for take-off and landing.
Interesting idea.
That's been used for years on many carriers. I believe we were given them on BA in 1999 when we were traveling with a baby.
They don't seem to be approved by all national regulators. I don't think we ever got one from AC over the years when the kids were little.
