This is an interesting theory, but it's the properties that determine how guests are treated, and I personally have seen a continuous decline in properties' treatment of Diamonds over the past 18 months (Asia excepted). I fully expect that will continue. "Free" suite upgrades at properties that already play games with DSU and award inventory? Fat chance.
