Have you linked your SPG account with your MR? I would think by showing your RCR Platinum card at check-in the hotel would extend Plat benefits to you.

I have accompanied my spouse on numerous conferences and bus trips where her name is first on the reservation for expense purposes. We have either added my name and MR # to the reservation or I have shown my MR Plat card upon check in and we have never had a problem getting at least lounge access, free wifi and usually other benefits as well. Most times I will also get the nights and points and bonuses posted to my account. Keep in mind we are talking spouses here with the same last name. My spouse does not have a MR# so there is only one MR # on the reservation. Also wanted to note that even though my name has been added to the reservation in these instances, her name appears on the folio.
