I don't think I can eat ice cream after tasting this heavenly gelato. I will miss the straciatella. Nothing comparable. The mint was also divine.Nothing like that mint chip crap found in ice cream. A frozen yogurt parlor opened next door to them around the same time. They are still there as is the horrible pizza restaurant next door. Pizza is inedible and yet Maria's has thrived and survived for years.
My husband and I feel a real sense of loss. We really believed that this was a treasure and everyone in Brentwood would fall in love. At the end of the day, I guess most folks want Corporate. Thinking now of Sprinkles and PInkberry.
