I was also denied on the outbound LAX-SYD but at least the agent said "capacity", which is in principle legitimate but it certainly didn't look that crowded to me, even with the other Qantas flights departing around the same time.
In both cases I was admitted to the business lounge. Am I misunderstanding the rules here? Are they rejecting people a lot these days or is it just me?
You were incorrectly denied in both cases. An EXP flying on a qualifying int'l flight can access the F lounge.
The 'class of service' stuff for AA flyers is only for the LAX-JFK/MIA transcons. It's a shame to see this still happening
