Indeed, but I think the key aspect here is that BA has blocked out some hotels in or near the French Quarter, and insofar as there are rooms available, they are running at US$400 plus a night, without the various extras in the offer. I agree the "buy it now" price looks unattractive, I guess it's for those who have not got the time to play the eBay game, but the gap isn't as big as it looks, and those who won auctions below £2000 have done well.
