The cares harness is definitely allowed on board (it's even mentioned in our manuals).The agent did not give you the right information. There are so many gadgets for children available right now. I also agree that the carseat might be easier for your child. My son would probably give me a hard time with the harness but depends on your child's personality too. My family is traveling with an 18 month old infant (lap seat) FRA-YYC in J class. One of the reasons why we decided to go for J is because of the flat seat option. We are hoping that our child would be able to sleep when the "bed" is made.
I was also wondering why bassinets are not allowed in international J? Can we still order on to use it as a "storage device" for all the items that we might have? Or would our request be denied?
