United has changed the rules on E tickets

United has changed the rules on E tickets. I am not sure if this should go here so I'll also post under United also.

I was looking at Unted e-tickets today for a flight to SYD. At the bottom of the page it states " E-Fares are not eligible for online booking bonus miles. Only standard Mileage Plus flight miles will be earned upon completion of an E-Fares flight.."

I phoned in and was told that NO status miles were given. Isn't that a slap in the chops?

The fare to Sydney was a S fare booking class which is eligible for upgrade normally, but not on E-fares.

Looks to me that anyone booking E-fares are going to lose big time.

I phoned into United and checked on a regular fare to SYD same dates. I got a fare in W for a total of $910 including all taxes, upgradeable, 15% discount cert applied making the cost lower than the e-fare with no restrictions.

I am not sure if anyone has posted this before or even if any one is aware of this change. Now you are. Be careful.

Regards,
Robert
