I don't think the ovens have been removed from the larger a/c that typically fly longer routes, but I could be wrong. Certainly any of the internationally configured jets that fly the transcons have ovens for coach meal service.

However, from the reports, it sounds like it would be cold snacks (sandwiches, etc) for main cabin.

It is possible that F galleys have enough capacity to heat meals for both F and C+ on some a/c. I also imagine that putting an oven in is not that big of a deal, and that they probably left themselves this option on reconfigured a/c, so that it is more of a "plug and play" rather than a big project.
