BA example: After sweating for a few hours whilst wearing the minimum I'm comfortable with on a plane (short running shorts and a t shirt) I finally decided it was worth mentioning to the FA (the other 2 passengers in first may have also been too hot and to shy to mention it). The flight attendant changed from 24C to 22C, gave me a cold bottle of water and voila - problem solved.

AA example: This afternoon I was on an AA flight. Plane was a little warm but there were individual vents above each seat and they seem to blow out air that is colder than the rest of the cabin. Turned mine on. Problem solved without having to impose on others.
I don't usually have much positive to say about AA but the indevidual vents are something that should be mandatory in planes and I really like having them on the AA planes. Makes such a difference, especially on the window seats where they are closer (on the middle they are very high up)
