Not strictly BAEC related, by any means, but relevant to current posts and to my own recent travel.

So many flights to, and particularly from, JNB appear to be subject to technical problems. At the airport recently (flying QR), I have never seen so many flights cancelled or delayed for technical reasons. Indeed, on departure from JNB, our flight (QR) was cancelled, as were several others. Certainly, weather must play a part, but other factors must be in play.

JNB is a major destination for many of the world's premier airlines, but all seem subject to significant operational problems - so what is going on?
