Woke up to a flooded hotel room in Greece, what to do?

My wife and I woke up to a flooded hotel room this morning after a fairly heavy rain (about 3" deep all through the hotel room). Some of our clothes were completely soaking wet, but luckily most of our stuff was unharmed.

We had a big day planned for today and having to deal with this in the morning held us up for several hours.

The hotel moved us to a new room of the same type and offered to give us a free lunch at their restaurant. We paid nearly €700 for the room and it's the hotels third nicest suite. I felt a bit offended that the compensation that they are offering was basically a free meal, that is actually an inconvenience for us as we will be out and about during lunch.

The service staff handled the situation very well, by the management treated it like nothing happened and hardly even apologized for the situation. They told us that our room was the only one that saw any sort of flooding (this is a big hotel of at least 500 rooms).

I wanted to ask the experts what should I do? Is it unreasonable of me to expect more than this? What should I ask for in compensation? An upgrade to the next room? Free bottle of wine? Ask them to pay for our dinner outside of the hotel restaurant?

TLDR: woke up to a flooded hotel room in Greece, very little compensation offered. What should I do?
