I responded to the formal email asking for clarification and if there was an error, to please process a refund for the remaining $398.
As of now I am either at a refund of $964 or $566, plus 15,000 miles. If they can confirm that i've been refunded $964 then i'll gladly drop the issue and consider this a solid example of customer service on the part of Delta. If it's only $566 I may escalate it once more.
I expect that whatever i've been offered at this point is probably the final amount, but for another 10 minutes of effort, why not try.
Thank you everyone for your help. Have a nice Thanksgiving.
This would indeed be very impressive customer service if Delta, rightly, processes the refund that you asked for. Please post the final outcome, when ready.
All the best.
