Why? GE is great for reasonably frequent flyers. But he will benefit from it once on this trip, and I don't get the impression he flies internationally much. The interview and the $100 are nothing if you're benefitting half a dozen times or more, but the hassle of a separate trip to the airport to enroll in global entry is considerably more than the time savings for one trip.
